Ok so i just deleated my entire message, that was really long >:(
That is just really pisssy.
Ok so i will do the abbrev version. Basically nothing in my life has changed. I wake up, do my hair, go to school, go to dance, come home, sleep. (my life in a nutshell)
This weekend is the first competition!!!!!!!!! So happy:D I feel really good about it, well except for my point solo. For that I'm thinking I'm basically screwed. I just got new pointshoes last week and I don't feel very secure on them and most things are fine, but like the really intense stuff in my point solo get very scary. It doesn't help that they feel sooo different from the point shoes I've been wearing for a while (the Ganor Mindons) and I haven't had a very long time to adjust. My foute turns?? I think I may die. Along with my little petti allegro/fiddley work that I have to do hops on one block :/.... NOT FUN!!!! Any sugjestions Maya??? I need major help.
On a different note, I haven't talked to a certain someone yet :/ I dont know what's going to happen... Oh well I'm so sick of trying to controle whats going to happen in the future. If it's going to work then it will. (aka if its meant to happen it will)
So school..... Ugh its stressing me out sooo much I have no idea how I'm going to survive next year with three university level sciences. It'll be death. And I'll probably have another ballet class because I'm going to be working on Advanced II next year so my mom will probably want to have two extra classes instead of one, so that'll put me at 4 ballet classes a week, and three point classes, and at least two extra hours, meaning at the least I'll be dancing 19 and 1/2.... Maya, how do you manage???
Photography has been really good, it's soo interesting like learning about how a film camera works and everything. We also get to go into the dark room and use the chemicals and stuff it's so sick. Fitness is going well too. It's actually a pretty intense work out if you actually do the workouts properly (which most people don't). English and History are death though. They're sooo boring like I honestly feel as though we barely do anything in those classes. Especially compaired to my science and math classes last semester these ones I just feel like we dont learn anything. Like of course we do, they just drag on soooo long.
Ok so I need to hit the hay now or else I will be even less functioning tomorrow than I already will be... (stupid computer -__-)
I love you girls to the moon and back<3<3<3<3
Penny! you posted <3 <3 <3
ReplyDeleteI hope things are working out better for you...why the switch from Gaynors? (or is there some wonky rule that you can't wear them in competitions or something?)
When I need to do hops on pointe I find it works best when I "prime" my feet by doing some "changements" on two feet. For those, I start doing small changes of feet, then get bigger and bigger till I'm really jumping. But just use it to prime you feet, don't tire them out right before performing or anything. When you are actually performing them, especially the one-footed hops, it's important to be really efficient with them. If you're tired by the time you get to the hopping sequence, be extra aware, and make sure you arent torquing or jumping with the rest of your body (shoulders and arms especially). Just focus your attention on a quiet, active strength in your supporting ankle and try not to jump too high on the hops. They are supposed to be delicate and give you an ethereal look, so do whatever you have to to make yourself feel as light as a feather. Basically, any extra shuffling around or movement with the rest of your body will put extra stress on you for the hops...I hope that helps a bit...maybe just getting used to your shoes over this week will help. If they are too hard, try putting them on while at home or in the car and put a pair of fuzzy socks over them. Just wear them and walk in them, and if your feet sweat that's great - it'll help break them in.
As for the fouettes...I'm a complete fail at them. So I'm afraid all I can say is don't do what I do. Yup. Let us know how it's working and good luck for the comp! (I'll be thinking of you!)
