wishful thinking

I know that no one checks this blog anymore, and the likelyhood of anyone writing on here is slim to none... but whatever. I'm going to write anyway, and I propose that we all try to write at least once over Christmas Holidays.

I've been pretty much the opposite of busy for the past 5 months, which has been weird, but also good in a way too.

Things have been moving too slow, but also far to fast for my liking.
I've been loving my more steady flow of contact with Mosby over this week, getting to see Katlin today, and talking to Maya on the phone for a few brief moments was wonderful too(Savannah, you really need to get in on this!).
I can't wait until we all go out for sushi together, and have wonderful Christmas-y fun times!

I can't believe the year is almost over...

MY SUMMER HAS STARTED

This summer is off to the best start ever! My trip to NYC was AMAZING!!!! Seriously. I need to talk to each and every one of you in person(in further detail... if we have already spoken!!!)

Woohoo im breaking the chain of silence! me, of all people :P EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP i looove summer, it's so wonderful :D I feel like i'm living 'the good life', enjoying things that ought to be enjoyed. So it has been fabulous having my brother around all the time!! I realized he only moved in 3 weeks ago--- it feels like he has been here forever :) But anyways, i am rarely bored when he is around! His grad was a week and a half ago and it was a really nice ceremony :) and we got great pictures on both sides of the family! I started working on sunday... coincidentally, fathers day... But everything worked out and i got to celebrate fathers day after my shift! Anyways, work is ok, we are merchandising everything right now so it's pretty mindless steady paced work- No customers to pester you anyways. ;P All in all i'm content there. Not thrilled, not in the least miserable :) I'm psyched for multicultural festival this weekend!! Wooohooo! Also, i loved the heat this weeeek!35+ is fine with me :D I officially declared my major and minors yesterday! hoorah, i am enrolled. Funny thing is i can change it whenever i want to, so it's not really a big deal. I have a confirmed place to live in september woohoo! A 2bedroom ground floor apartment with my friend christine :) We were housemates this past year if any of you are wondering... I am stokeeeddd for it!!! the only downside is the small bathroom... but... we have the main athletic centre that's a 2 minute walk away from us! and has beautiful bathrooms and a sauna and... *sigh* ^_^ i'm going to be taking the smaller of the 2 bedrooms-- the room i had this past year was way too big.. considering i really didnt have many things to fill it out with. My vegetable garden is flourishing, minus the death of two cucumber plants :( But yes, it is so cuuutee! I'm loving this ^_^ i feel like i might just implode from satisfaction...

Seriously, no one has written on here for ages!

All of my things are done for the year now. Saturday was my choir concert, Sunday was my drama showcase and last night was a wonderful end of term party for choir. We said goodbye to those not going on tour with us, but I'm SOOOO excited to start working on Austria stuff!!!!
The idea of singing my solos in Austria makes me super excited! :D Just going to Austria makes me excited!!!

Anywhooo. There isn't really much else for me to say about my life right now :P

I'm glad Monika's home, and I can't wait to become a human leech and attach myself to her being.

Siiiiince no one has blogged in over a month, I thought I'd be the first to break our LONGEST EVER NO POST STREAK. Woohoo. Not :P
No idea if anyone even checks the blog right now, but here I am.

I'm so unbelievably happy right now! Just got home from a thank you dinner for helping with the gym over the Christmas holidays with Alex, Jess, Josh, Erika, Alyssa, Braelyn, Dan and Sheryl. Dan was so cute and funny and HAPPY. He's like a different guy than a few months ago. Its so nice to see :)

He pulled me aside at one point when we were going up to get food and was like "I'm so proud of the beautiful young woman you've become. You're one of the good ones." And later someone made a comment and he was like "Hey, just remember that's my daughter you're talking to." Awww Dan :) It reminded me so much of Greece, and how much I love my coach <3<3<3

In other news, I have the highest mark in drama! Woo :D Also, Craig told me I was the most interesting person to watch onstage for the Shakespeare monologues. He's a little biased, but it still felt good. :)

fluff, fancies, and polish women

me mum took me shopping today! She's so sweet, she wants me to feel comfortable in my own skin so she decided I required a refreshing of wardrobe. There's this epic shop called Unique Boutique uptown waterloo that has such amazing clothes and accessories! Most of the stuff is kinda fancy, but everything is so artsy and beautiful! The lady who owns the place is Polish, and oh boy I love Polish people :P My mom has some polish aspects to her, and it's so entertaining to shop with her and this saleslady :) hahaha, they're both pretty straightforward and "shop with a purpose," which became mildly funny when I found myself as their object of attention. I'm not complaining, I left with three gorgeous tops that make me smile even just to think of them. haha, my mom got one of the same tops too - it just looked so good on everyone! There were two, shall we say 'sophisticated,' ladies trying on clothes with us as well, and at one point we all tried on the same thing! It was pretty epic. I'm aiming on becoming a real character by the time I feel 'senior.' Oh yes. I shall have a huuuuuge garden of wildflowers, another mini garden reserved for flower pressing/card making, and a wardrobe of wacky edgy attire that would knock the socks off anyone's feet. Speaking of socks, on our way home we passed an epic epic dude who was wearing bright green 3/4 length pants, one black sock and one rainbow coloured sock, dress shoes, an orange top, a suit jacket, and a pink bowler hat. Beat that. I think he thought I was laughing at him, but I was just so thrilled to see someone exercising his colour palette that I was beaming XP. Dudes ought to be epic more often. I believe we outdo them most of the time in that department.

Wow. This is becoming an essay. Too bad for you. I'm not in a very sympathetic mood at the moment. I just listened to my dad talk about learning chord progressions on the piano...for 45 minutes. Don't get me wrong; I am grateful for chord progressions, and I appreciate my dad, but together? For 45 minutes? Speaking plainly here, my ears are ringing. At present I've escaped to my neighbour's house - babysitting is my saviour at present. The kids are soooo cute! The oldest one, emma, told me that "if I needed anything she would probably be available until 9:56 pm" :D soooo cute :) :) :) Little people make me feel so at peace with this world <3

So. Weeks of lecture to go: uno. Then exams and then BAM! Woot woot here comes that old friend "summer"!

That's right.

If anyone asks me tomorrow how old I am, I'm telling them straight off that I'm as old as my tongue and a little older than my teeth.

I'm also going to be wearing the biggest boldest clip-on earrings that I own and I could very well disappear into a british accent for part of the day. I'm rather fond of you girls, so I thought I'd better warn you so that you don't get shocked unawares.

I'm so ready for summer. I've been dreaming in pen and watercolours. That only ever happens in the summer. When I'm feeling artsy. And free. And bold.

I need a new haircut.

I also need to become extremely phenomenal at swing dancing and doing the charleston. Possibly even the moonwalk. And I'm so ready to update my wardrobe. Bring on the thrift stores and vintage shops!

I'm also aiming to do some serious cooking and baking, and will rely one you four to get rid of the results via compost or stomach (hopefully the latter but I ain't promising nothin).

I'm thinking we should also photo/video document this summer, just for our sakes, so that we have a barrel of memories to fall back on whenever we need them.

update + March break

Hey lovelies,
It's been WAY too long since I blogged. Oops.

I went to visit U of T again on Saturday. It was pretty good, they had profs from the program speak and they seemed super enthusiastic and nice. They also had students speak and students gave us tours so we could ask them questions. My tour guide was in biomed so I asked him about his research projects, which was nice. The students were pretty cool.
The only thing that freaked me out was that EVERYONE who went to this thing was asian nerdy boys. Not that there's anything wrong with nerds (<3!) but like, EVERYONE. I was more than a little freaked out at the lack of...diversity in my potential peer group. Idk. Girls? Very, very few. People who have social skills? Even less.

Other stuff I did... Last week I took a legit first aid course at the gym. The guy who taught it was really awesome, he was a firefighter/paramedic with 3 kids and he just had a lot of real life experience. He was blunt and honest about everything and I really liked that. He wasn't keen on how first aid has been glorified, and he wanted us to at least be prepared as well as we could be. He had a lot of great stories too. Apparently he's rescued SEVEN cabbage patch dolls from burning buildings, thinking they were babies. SEVEN. I laughed a lot :P

Tomorrow I'm going to a dinner for accepted applicants at Waterloo so that should be good. Wednesday is prom dress shopping :D And Thursday is climbing+Starbucks with Em! Should be a good week :)

She basically uses the time to reiterate the requirments for the assignment. WHICH HAS ALREADY BEEN STATED IN THE ASSIGNMENT PAGE!
Holy smokes. She always says 'don't talk while I'm talking, it distracts me...' WE ARE TYPING COMMENTS IN THAT SHE CAN CHOOSE NOT TO READ!! What is this. I mean , she says that if this was a real class, having us talking all the time would be distracting.... and its the same here. NOT TRUE! She doesn't HEAR us! Wow. I mean seriously. Every lesson she goes on a rant about how much 'talking' is class is distracting and wastes time.... while she is wasting time :P

LEAP YEAR

I find that my all of the english/writting classes I've done have has the most stupid and pointless live meetings :P She accuses us of having generally bad writing habits. And I always feel like she's talking to me, but I already know what she is talking about, and I know I don't have bad habits. Gah!!! I don't want to not go to classes, because being there helps me stay on track.... but it feels like a pretty big waste of time. I take writing really seriously, so I KNOW proof reading is important, especially for work that is being marked. I'm not stooooopid.

Anywho.... I'm sitting here listening to her voice, and typing to YOU!

Hahaha. We just had 5 minutes to write monolgues from the point of view of toys on the shelf. I was play-doh! lol.

Here's my monologue:

Through the barrier of the plastic walls around me I can hear the murmuring voices of the other toys. Several days have passed, and I am sitting here alone in the semi-darkness where I live. The lid of my container wasn’t closed properly after the last time Darcy took me out and rolled me into little snakes and roly-poly balls. I can see a slit of light from the room around me, which is both a blessing and a curse. I can see the time pass, but at the same time I can feel my pink squishy being begin to whiten and crack. I don’t know how long I will be left here like this. By the time Darcy comes back I will be solid as a rock, and will be thrown in the trash. Then I will be no more. If only I was important enough to be loved – loved like all the other toys on the shelf.

I spent all day trying to be in a good mood. My brother was home which helped incredibly hahaha :)
Urrgghh i need a better attitude of biology studying lol. I really need to get my act together!
To be honest, i dont really care about grades right now... I do.. but on a larger scale i dont...maybe life will surprise me lol.

it is kind of swanky, texturefull, and has epic dimensions of SHNAZZ.
I was feeling relatively cool reading my entries just now, so that's why you all got to hear about it. :)
Gahhhh Kate your birthday was mucho fun! :D I enjoyed everything from meeting all your awesome friends, to eating your delightful concoctions, to being happily buried under reams of hugs, and just generally celebrating YOU! Yup. Three thumbs up. (I'll borrow one of my brother's, he can amuse himself by learning how to text with only one thumb).

Oh, btw he says thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes :)haha, he's a good sort. But his head's too small apparently. (no savannah, not in that way) It just doesn't fit into standard sized hats. But he looks good in hats. So I'll keep searching for them...ha, if I tell my grandma she'll find some with "elastic headbands" XP She's best friends with the fake flower fairy and lives in the world of elastic-everything.

I love having to return dvds to the library, even if they happen to be yet unwatched, cause then I get to peruse one of my favourite places in the city <3 I found a whack of neat cds that are going to pretty much double the number of songs on my lil green ifriend. YIKES. I just had a chill go up my spine - how long until they come out with the "ifriend"??? I promise I'll wear bright colours and make constant noise and jump rope with a rope that has ear-bud handles if you pick me over the "ifriend!"

haha. WOW. I think it's past my bedtime. Oh. By the way, my nailpolish is turning all streaky artsy coolness. Evidently your epicness rubs off on your nailpolish Rachel <3

pre-birthday goodness

I'll be 18 tomorrow! (not that you didn't know that :P)

This week/weekend/today has been filled with so much awesome/warm bubbly feelings <3 Guelph on Friday was fun, Jen's party made me realise how incredible my friends are and how lucky I am to have them. They make high school worthwhile <3<3<3 Saturday with Maya and Rachel was lovely and I love tofu lol. And how we ate ricecakes :P Sunday I went rock climbing with Frances, Patrick and Nyell which was super nice. Catching up with old friends always makes me feel good :)

Today was the first day of semester two, and I pretty much adore my classes. Chemistry feels so comfortable because I know exactly how Mr. Ohling works and I feel like I can succeed in that class with some hard work. I have kin with Erin which will be awesome no matter what because I love her :) And spending my entire afternoon in the drama room isn't bad either haha. Nyell's class seems awesome and I feel more comfortable in gr12 drama than I did in gr11. I've already proved myself lol.

THEN we got our exam/final marks for semester one! Mr. Kruse said he'd bump me up to a 95% in english because he's so ridiculously awesome :D And I have a 95% in bio, and I got a 91% on my calculus exam! YAY :) So I'm finishing with an 84%, which is pretty decent. Basically it was a great end to the day haha :)

over and done

I had my math exam yesterday, and I'm just glad its over :P

This morning was lovely.
I was woken up by two happy giggling boys who I then spent 20 minutes wrestling, playing 'cave' under my duvet cover, cuddling and tickling in my bed.
Basically the best way to be woken up adter 9 hours of sleep(like 3 more hours than I usually get :P).

I finished re-reading the entire hunger games trilogy today. It is SO GOOD!
I'm really enjoying this whole reading things twice thing. I think I might do it more often.
There were moments that I was shocked, even though I knew it was coming.

Other than that, I pretty much did nothing.
I went outside for less than 5 minutes to take some pictures.
I was pretty people deprived for the most part, but that's not intirely unsual :P

I'm not enjoying myself right now.
I'm studying for my math test that is tomorrow, and I feel like I'm not going to do very well at all... which sucks cause I've spent A LOT OF TIME this past week working through everything... :S
Oh well. It's math. I can retake it if I REALLY want to... or just not care after tomorrow... we'll see. We'll see.

Babysitting last night was fun :D I enjoyed my self(and made $50!!!!!).
Also... yeah.
Seeing you girls yesterday was fun(I WAS supposed to see Mosby... BUT SOMEONE BAILED ON ME!!!! jerk. JK LOVE YOU!)

Ummmmmm.... YET today was supacool. We did mask work, and the masks were totally beautiful! SOOO gorgeous!
Mine was gold with fabulous gold flam-like head dressing and sheer fabric, and just AMAZING!
It was really cool.

I get to see my theatre chicks next Saturday! Which is going to be fun fun fun fun fun!!!!! :D

Opps... i'm doing alright though, so that's good. Maybe after Thursday I'll try introducing a few other things I'm not supposed to have. Assuming I don't get deathly ill after this incident.

Jan 24th, most creative title ever!

So, i owe you a longer post...
My brain is fried. I dont think i can handle this lol.
I bit off more than i can chew ladiess!!
But, whatever. I cant really do anything except work hard and feed myself well lol.
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMmm went grocery shopping the other day! i loooove groceries lol. mostly because i feel like i have the right to spend money on food lol.
Today i had class-work-class- and then my housemate and i went to the office to look into student housing for next year! excitiiingg, but yeah, we have to wait until early march for any idea if there is room for us in this one house we want :)
But its still exciting :)

so stuff has been happening. which is fun and everything.
like singing with the symphony was pretty awesome. thinking i messed up, not so awesome. then finding out it was actually the orchestra's fault and not mine was a little bit nicer :P

we have some new friends. which is fun.

i don't think i'll be doing a show this spring. which is less fun.

yeah. things are confusing right now. and i am confused.

i've been reading a lot, and not studying for my exams.

yeah. i went skating today. which was fun.
now i'm alone and that is not so fun.

i don't know. i'm loosing hope in this season already, which kinda sucks.

yet on sunday was really really cool. it was a directing workshop with an awesome professional(who i've acted along side). and i think directing might be something i'd like to do. you get to explore the text and convey your intentions and vision through your actors.

also, i'm excited to see all of you.
mosby, i had better be seeing your face tomorrow evening, and the rest of you, i'll see you SATURDAY :D

best weekend of wonderfulness

So my weekend started off with some lovely live music Friday night and meeting up with some past homeschooling buddies, and then skating with my Maya! :D
Then Saturday, Viola came over and did some math-y stuff with me.

Saturday evening there was a cast party(the 2nd one).

It was a HUGE party that got wildly out of hand and things were wild and crazy and it was wild and crazy.

Sorry. I lie.
There were supposed to be 15 people there... BUT there were just 5 of us :)
5 of the best theatre girls out there.
It was an amazing bonding event! Like actually.

One of the girls is having boy troubles(sounds like a lot of other people I know :P).
Hahaha, so one of the other girls was like:
"Your with a girl against love, two forever alones and a homeschooled kid.... yeah, this is a great place to get relationship advice."

Hahaha. There were a bunch of funny jokes and whatnot. I got there at 3:20ish, and I didn't realize that so few people were going to be there... so for the first 10-15 mins of me being there, it was just me. And then one other person showed up at 3:30ish. Then another at 5, and another closer to 6.

We played this would you rather board game thing. And there were some pretty messed up/funny/random/weird questions.

We were going to watch a movie... but insted we played that one game, and then talked for the rest of the time.
Which is pretty impressive, considering I was there from 3:20-11:00!!!!

Then today I had YET, and we had a stage managing workshop, which was awesome! It was really neat, and something that I would definately want to try out in the future :)

Pretty much the best weekend in a while, and next weekend is going to be epic too!

I miss you girls!! And January just isn't cutting it with this messy wet weather :( Oh well, at least my face wasn't red this morning by the time I walked to school :P
So this past weekend I visited my old roomie Hannah in Toronto! Twas epic indeed. We saw an operetta called "the Gypsy Princess" with Hannah's great aunt and uncle and then went to a classy diner afterwards cause we had talked through supper :P We were at the diner until 12 am XD And then we had an eventful trip to her place via subway and watched Gilmore Girls until 4:30 am...I'm really good at partying ;)
And then on Sunday we visited our grade 9-12 English teacher! It was so nice to see him again and we pretty much had a talking marathon for 3 and a half hours. And his condo is like a museum! Sooo many amazing paintings and sculptures - I feel like anyone living there would feel constantly inspired <3 I want get back to art making - t'would be even better if it were with you girls. Haha, we should take a trip back to that tall wispy pine tree in Waterloo Park and sketch some sturf again...good times.
And I want to make those watercolour paintings with salt again!

Wow. I really get off-topic. I took the bus back and my bro walked over to meet me! Brothers are awesome. Sorry you're missing out Penny, but I guess I could share mine with you :P

Uni is still slow-ish, not very many assignments, so for the first time I feel on top of things! I'm ahead in chem which is a good feeling and math isn't as foggy as usual.

I'm hoping to go see a bunch of shows in KW/Toronto this term - if any of you are free we should go together! There's one coming up at the end of January at the Registry which is a local dance collaboration, and it's pay-as-you-leave so quite easily accessible for us students :) I don't know exactly what it'll be like, but one of my old waterloo-dance-mates is choreographing for it :D soooo cool!

yayyyy!!! today my aunt from germany phoned and I was actually able to speak to her in full sentences :D :D :D
I LOVE german. Me thinks it's just cause I associate a whole whack of great stuff with it, but I don't care. It happens to make sense bit at a time in this ol' brain of mine and I like that. Yup.
I actually don't have very much to say...things have been rather predictable lately.
Oh, I've been exploring the gym though and it has some great elliptical machines! haha, to think how much I was missing out on...
I've been wearing my mom's bright magenta zumba pants to the gym XD I look ridiculous. You should come with me just to laugh at them. And I don't have running shoes so I wear a pair of old jazz shoes and so far I have received the weirdest collection of looks from the people I pass that I can imagine :P It's good to know I'm appreciated for my weirdness lol.
We need to go skating. I'll try and reconstruct the belly flop for ya'll. Who knows, maybe I'll wear the zumba pants too...

boy. Seems like yesterday when classes were finishing. I guess that means holidays were fun :P I can personally verify that actually. And I have you girls as witnesses X) Seeing all of you was my FAVVVVVV part of it all - I don't want it to stop! Ooooo, I have a reading week this term :) :) :) Feb 20-24 :D Yay! I'm off for my bro's birthday. haha, I'll party for him. He's turning 17...gahhhhh!
Classes are pretty slow today, and the day feels suuuuuper long as of right now. I've gotten so much done compared to my average holiday day ;) It'd be nice if the profs just started right into the crazy pace, cause I know it'll start to pile up part-way through term and I'd like to get some sturf done now. I guess it always happens this way...
I went skating twice more!! I got some used skates at McPhail's (favourite sports store <3) and even did a belly-flop on the Town Square rink. haha...good times
