a recap of friday night

So, I probably should have posted about this sooner, but I was way too out of it on Saturday, and Sunday was a crazy mess. So here I am:)

Friday night, Part One:
Strip the Streets rally at city hall! Brenna was like our MC/introduction-er/FHCI rep, and she did a great job! Go Brenna!
There was also a guy who wrote a rap just for the event, and that was pretty sweet:)
Alex gave me his sign to hold...actually more like I stole it from him, but no one needs to know that;)
And yeah. It was pretty short. Kinda cold. Nice to see people:)

Friday night, Part Two:
EASTWOOD SEMI :D Rachel came over at like 6:20 ish, and we got ready together:) then Gavin came over at 7 because he was convinced it was a good idea to go early... lol. Luckily my mom stalled him with pictures:P
Yeah. SO. Semi!! Ahhhhhhhh, so fun!!!
I hope you had a good time, Rachel. I sure did:) Lol, and we were the prettiest girls there, by far (you're 100x more gorgeous than AJ in my eyes<3 ).
Also, I slow danced for the first time... When we lost Rachel with Shannon I think. Which was a mix of awkward and really nice haha.
Basically semi can be summed up in a simple equation:
boy I love + girl I love more = good times <3

Friday night, Part Three:
Strip the Streets sleepover outside in the cold!
Baha, I was SO not excited for this. You could even go so far as to say I'd been dreading it for weeks.
BUT, it ended up being almost as much fun as semi!!:)
There was music going until 3am, and we ate cookies, drank hot chocolate, people were playing frisbee and dancing...
Alex and I went skating laps around the rink in our boots to stay warm, until we got sent into our tent at around 3. There were 11 people in there with us haha. And we decided there was no point trying to sleep. So that was..interesting:P
We also decided that we'd go skating again at 5 (yeah, I know, we're crazy..). But, we fell asleep at around 4:30am, so that didn't happen. I actually never got cold until I tried to sleep, so I guess it could have been a lot worse. And then when I woke up freezing, I put my head up on Alex and that helped SO MUCH. Except I felt bad for squishing him into the corner lol.
By 5:30 though, all I wanted was for SOMEONE to curl up in my sleeping bag with me to stay warm. I seriously would have welcomed ANYONE.
But yeah. Overall, it was good times:)

well, to tell the truth, I'm really too swamped to be writing a post - so I thought I'd write one anyways ;).
Uhhh, hello, it's MARCH tomorrow???? :O craaaaaaziness. period.
I kinda can't believe break is over. It went by sofast. No space between "so" and "fast" cause it went by too fast for that. :P
Friday sushi was yuuuuummmers! hahaha, I wonder if they cleaned that menu ;) and I firmly believe that that girl can become a *true* space cadet. Fully fledged and all...I, um, just wouldn't want to be in the same rocket as her I think :P
weeelll, after friday awesomeness, the rest of the weekend was just busy and a bit sad...not so happy. Anyways, back to school now, and the break just seemed to let teachers remember all the "extra" projects and assigments that they might have otherwise forgotten or pared down - they're in full swing now too. SHUCKSOS.
Hey, Rachel, I just wanted to let you know that I LOOOOVVVVVEEE reading your posts and I think it is simply loyal and brilliant when you post no matter the number of times or whether they are in a row. Surely it is frustrating when you're the only one posting (I'm terribly guilty of ignoring my duty to post when school weather becomes a tornado warning) but if you feel like posting - DO IT DO IT DO IT!!!!! <3
hey, wasn't the weather nice today? :) I luurrrrrvv the sunshine!!!! Brilliant stuff really. I walked to dollarama (I know, I'm bad for supporting them, but I needed toe tape that doesn't cost 10 dollars per roll!) and I bought enough toe tape to last me a while. That's all though ;)
Yonge street is pretty vibrant no matter the time of day or night. Yeah, I don't tend to encounter it past this time of night thought :P
beGEEEZers. I need to work on my school work. hey, I got two lessons of my calculus course done over break...actually, that's depressing. I was hoping to at least get a full unit done. Fat chance.

Aida rehearsals started yesterday :)
It's going to be epic!
We have a really big cast, and a lot of teenagers, so it should be fun!

I'm really excited about starting to block stuff. Gord usually adds me to all the ensemble stuff he adds... so I'm excited to see what other "roles" I get to work with and all the cool ensemble stuff he has in mind.
I have a feeling it's going to be a lot like intensive style stuff. Ensemble being "emotions" and the "inner feelings" then actually people. It'll be interesting to see how the older people embrace that. The teenagers who he throws that stuff totally go for it an get it... but I don't know what the older people who have already been conditioned to one kind of thinking will feel about it :P

And I already started car-pooling with the lady who took me all last year.
She's so nice, and really easy to talk to on the car rides :)

I'm SO excited about the "two trio" thing that I get to be apart of them. All the other ladies who are in it were pretty big parts last year, so that makes me feel pretty good about things :)

I can't WAIT!!!!

Oh!!! And BUY TICKETS!!!!! and if you buy them on-line... mention my name! Cause for every ten purchases that have my name, i get a "raffle ticket" and that get put into a draw for 2 tickets to see the Lion King in Toronto!!!!! SO yeah.... I want those :P

Their names are Ferdinande and Gertrude, and they sit very pleasantly in my windowsill.

I feel like I haven't posted in a while.
Even though I have.
And even though I saw you today, I feel the urg to write an update on my life...
So here goes :)

Tomorrow I'm planning on taking a bath. And painting my toes.
I have such an exciting life, don't I? :P

Oh right. I forgot that I have physics to do. Okay. Short post.
Really, my life has been (and still is) absolutely INSANELY busy. Even if this post isn't really showing that.

Tomorrow I'm tutoring a new girl in math... I thought I'd like tutoring a lot more than I do. To be honest, it kinda sucks. But I already committed to it... Hopefully she'll just do her homework and be fine. But I always feel guilty when they fail stuff, even though I know its not my fault. I can't change whether people go to class or not. But still. I feel like its my job to at least help a little bit:(

Theres also probably a Free the Children meeting at lunch tomorrow, which I can't go to... Ugh. Crunch time. Plus there's a meeting on wednesday after school. And I coach that day. So. Ummm...
I have way too much on my plate. Cool.

I really have to go. Sorry this post was so pointless...

Yesterday was SO fun! I went to see Godspell, at Rockway.
It was SOOOOOO good!!!! All my friends who were in it ROCKED!!!!

I went with my friend Jessie, and then she came back and helped my babysit the kids.
She got quite a little show...

It was my mom's birthday yesterday, so she went out for supper with my dad.


Then Jessie slept over. Which was also super fun :)
I got to watch Mama Mia for the first time! It was so cute!

Then at church today, we had a supper yummy pot luck. There was SO much food, and I could actually eat a lot of it :)

hey there. I suppose things are fairly busy with everyone right now - here goes the second post in a row ;)
weeeel, it's 11:30pm, just washed up after our first Music Night performance :) much funnnnn. We have a whole bunch of numbers as the Grade 12s, and I lurrrrrv them. The show is called "the beat goes on" and it's rock and pop themed. We do a disco number "I will survive," "Chain chain chain," "We will rock you," "Hot hot hot," "And so it goes" (so beautiful!), and our finale is "Come sail away." I really want to go to a disco club sometime - we should put that on our bucket list! haha, it would be SOOO much fun, imagine us in pleather and spandex all glammed up twirlin' around under the disco ball...ahhhhh
kay, well I have to get to bed cause I have reg. school tomorrow and a show and I'm taking the train - hometime!!! hmmm, guess I should start a'packin. I got your present today Kate!! I'm really REALLY excited to see ya'll - and I wanna give you the humongonest hug EVAH!

hi everybody!
whew, I haven't had internet connection for a whole week, until today :) an IT fellow named Roberto fixed it up for me, hooray! So I apologize for not having blogged in so long :( wow, apparently I'm into the computer faces today. ;)
Now I'm free to bloggggggg...except for the issue of homework, but that's a minor detail.
I'm actually really tired, but I'm kinda past my tired point (I've already been through the hyper phase too :D ) and I'm feeling a bit calmer and alert. Strangeties.
Apparently my cranial cavity has decided it has the right to make up new words too. bahahaha that one belongs in my dictionary of entirely useful words. Right next to "odgy." Yup.
Well, lots of presentations and assignments due this week, and we've got our Music Night performance on Thursday night/Friday afternoon...shucksos, it's gonna be a little shaky. But it's SO much fun :D teehee, imagine a school full o' bunheads stretching their vocal chords and trying to look cool...pretty much sums it up. But it has a unique awesomeness to it.
oh DRAT IT. We've just been called down to our floor meeting, and here I was planning on writing a LONGGGGGG blog.

I got to sing another new work with the symphony last night.
It went really well!
It was really long.
30 minutes.
And we had to stand for the whole time... but whatever. We sounded good.

I'm torn between wanting to go to the mall today, or not...
The kids are going to have a visit today...
And I would like to go to look around. But I'm kind of poor.
And it's always awkward when we go for a visit...
so yeah.
We'll see what becomes of that.

I hate posting twice in a row.

But since I'm getting tired of waiting for someone else to post, here I am.
Seriously guys, lets get back on track.

Basically life is crazy.
Within the next two weeks I have We Day, Strip the Streets, semi, my birthday party, tests, a drama presentation, etc. So therefore, I decided I really needed to relax today. And I have. I painted my nails, played with my new straightener, ate cookies... Later I'm going to see Never Say Never with Em. I'm not really into JB, but whatever.
Yesterday I got my dress for semi. Its very... poofy. Lol. I feel like either a sparkly princess ballerina, or a cupcake. Like, its SO not typical Katlin style. And its not what I had in my head that I wanted AT ALL. I wanted some cute little black dress to go with my sexy gold shoes:P So I did NOT expect to come home with a super girly one. But I kind of love it anyway:) Who says I'm not allowed to feel like a princess sometimes?
After dress shopping I went over to Rachel's, and we went out for pho soup. It was yummy, like always:) And, we baked a cake that was FLOUR FREE. I was impressed at how yummy ground almonds are.
And then I babysat the kids. They were pretty good for me, and bedtime went smoothly. Except for when I was putting the baby to bed... The kids were SUPPOSED to be playing quietly until he was done his bottle...but instead they ran around screaming and attacked our cake lol. And then told on each other. As they licked chocolate from their fingers. I laughed at them:P But yeah, other than that it was all good. I told them stories about sharks and aligators and hamsters before bed instead of reading a story, and they were thrilled:)

birthday afterthoughts

I just have to say... I have the most amazing friends ever. You know who you are.<3
My birthday was actually really nice this year. Even though I didn't do anything special, it was just nice to have the day revolve around me, and to feel loved:) I know all the Facebook notifications are annoying, but I got a few really lovely ones. So if anyone is reading this who posted them, just know that you're amazing and I love you. :)
Also, I actually got presents this year!! Lol. My parents gave me a new straightener (a good one!), my NCAA tickets and some dried mango. I was surprised and delighted:)
AND, Gavin bought my semi ticket!! Woo! I wasn't sure if it was actually gonna happen lol. But I'm looking forward to it a lot. I hope you are too Rachel. It's gonna be an epic night;)

Okay. So. I should probably start on my homework/drama project/getting ready for tomorrow. But we all know how much I love to procrastinate;)

Tomorrow is actually gonna be the busiest day of my life. School (including a chem test), prep for Strip the Streets at lunch, rush to St. Mary's school to do a Strip the Streets presentation, coaching, math circle at UW with Adain, and coaches training. So I leave my house at 7:45am and get home at 10:30pm. Fun stuff.
Alright, I really must go...

TOMORROW IS MY BIRTHDAY!! =O

I honestly can't believe I'm going to be 17... Where did the last year of my life go?! Nothing special really happens when you turn seveteen, but its just seems.. OLD. I'm still a kid inside, aren't I? Who says I'm ready to be 17?

Yeah. To be honest I'm really not that excited for tomorrow. Apart from getting my math marks and stuff, because I'm a huge nerd. But like, I work tomorrow night. My gift is my trip to Cleveland. We're not going out to dinner or anything. I doubt my friends at school even KNOW its my birthday... I probably won't get any cards.
And I have to talk to Mr. C about Strip the Streets :S :(
So... I dunno. I need to sleep. All this thinking is frying out my brain, and the week hasn't even started yet...

This weekend has been fairly uneventful, well on part of it wasn't but ill tell you girls about it in person at Katlin's :) Its just been stupid like my dad saying really mean things about me but whatever...
I'm sooooo excited for the starting to perform this year!!!! I think its going to be really good! Also the showcase is tentatively going to be on the 26th of March, I think that's a Saturday, well it probably is but yeah i hope you girls can all come! I'm just so pumped:D

OK so i think my new favourite class is going to be Photography!! Its only been like two days, really one and a half but its just soooo different from art, yet so similar. Its very exciting! It does mean that I'm going to have like three University science courses next year but oh well I'll survive (I hope :P)

Oh and not only have i upheld my promise to blog every week, I also gave Maya the journals like first weekend in the month too! I feel so proud of myself lol

Oh and my new favourite movie is Dear John, partly because its a really good movie (no Hollywood ending), partly because Channing Tatum is in it (and hes really fantastic looking) and partly because the girls name is Savannah, like spelled the same way and everything, and it makes me feel special;P

This week has been great ^_^
I worked at the front desk on tuesday which was actually really enjoyable.Then Pingping and i went to this computer store for a charger and then the movies. yep, very creative combinations of outings :P. The King's Speech is a really good movie :D. Wednesday was that snowday lol so the school office was closed. I didn't have class anyways but it was still really nice to relax. After relaxing and being a lump, i went to yummmm booster juice with pingping. mmmmmmmmm smooothiessssssssssss:)
Yesterday i had volleyball and we won all of our games!! And it was sooo fun! Our team had really good chemistry and some amazing saves/plays. We laughed the whole time we were playing lol. Afterwards, one of my friends on the team asked if we wanted to go to moose winooski's because he had $50 gift certificates for it lol. So we went and it was fun too :)
Then i finally got home and went to sleepyyy :)
See? Great week. although seeing any of you girls would make it that much better;)

the ALMOST snowday.

So today was almost the first snowday I've ever experienced. The res staff actually came around to our rooms telling us all school was off - res has never been so loud in the mornings...actually ever I think. The first thing I thought was "holy moly, I'm gonna call my sistars, I NEVER get to call them!!!" I'm dead serious. And my roomate was gonna say hi too. So much for that...anyways, people were screaming and everyone was soooo happy, it was amazing. And then, 15 minutes later, just as it began to sink in, there was an announcement that 'higher authorities' decided against it and that we needed to boot it to school pronto. :( every other school in toronto has a snowday today...sometimes living five minutes away from school is a bummer. But I figure if not having a snowday is among the disappointing things of today, then heck am I lucky.
Besides being lucky, I'm also freezing because this computer is beside a lovely glass window that defies all properties of insulation.
Well, I'm actually in math class right now, researching RRSPs, so I should probably get back to that. My little moment of rebellion...
I'm just hoping that you all are having a snowday, or at least a grand day. We NEEEEED to get together, I miss all of you TERRIBLY. <3 <3 <3 you

sucky-ness and so forth

Things are kinda sucky in my corner of the universe.
Still :P

I'm still not feeling 100% and now I can't eat anything.
Milk and sugar are still fine... but I'm off six different kinds of grains(including:wheat, spelt, kamut, corn....) yeah.
Not that fun.
I actually cried all day yesterday.
Until I went to choir... then I sucked it up, for a bit at least.

Katlin came over today and made it all better!
We made food and ate chocolate covered almonds :)

I love you girl!


Choir is kind of taking over my life right now.
I have a rehearsal almost every single day this week... and will for the next week to.
I don't mind it, but since I'm still kind of under the weather it's kind of rotten timing.
Oh well.
