I can't believe it's been so long since I last saw you all! My life has been even more hectic than it usually is and I'm barely keeping up with it. Dance is fairly good right now.
Tonight I finished my trio and tomorrow I'm going to finish my contemporary solo for sure cause I only have like eight counts left! I've also missed two rehearsals which is fairly impressive that I can still be that far along!
Some of the groups have been kind of frustrating cause a lot of people in way less numbers who are in younger grades (i.e. less homework/ easier courses) don't bother to remember their choreo, and I know I wasn't as good when I was younger but its still frustrating. This kind of hit me last night cause I had to sit out (*super angry*) because something in my hips got out of wack, if you will, and was pinching a nerve in my hip. a.k.a not fun. Like everything was such a mess and it was like really? Come on guys. Oh well you can only do what you can do.
I'm so happy I currently have a 90 average which makes me happy! It helps that I have a 95 in physics.... can you say nerd? Well obviously not nearly as nerdy as Katlin but still. Biology is my worst mark which kind of makes me sad. I only have an 87 right now and tomorrow I have my Kingdom unit test tomorrow and it's so, so, many long complicated names and stuff which is really hard so hopefully I can do okay enough on it so it doesn't affect my mark too much. So many kids are going to bom it cause their stupid and don't study.
Biggest new change in my life? What I eat. I know it sounds weird but I feel AMAZING! It's from these two books "The Thrive Diet" and another one that I don't remember the name of, but their both by this guy Brendan Braiser (I think that's how you spell it.. Maybe?) and the restaurant, Thrive, that we went to for my birthday, well its based off of the research that he's done! It's all vegan (I'm not going strictly vegan don't worry)! The thing is, some people think that you can't be vegan and super athletic, but this guy was a professional triathlete and he was strictly vegan! The other thing is that it is so, so, so good for you, and to top it taste pretty delicious too! I haven't really eaten animal products except for butter on vegan bread, ye's sushi, and ice cream cake ( I know that's sort of a lot but it was my friend Nat's birthday so what can I say?) but like on an every day basis I don't have any animal products in my diet and I actually feel so good like I can't even describe it! I have so much more energy, I can actually get up in the morning, I don't really crave sugar, like its actually ridiculous! I would highly recommend you get/look at his books (I don't think my mom would be willing to lend them cause they have all the recipes in them unfortunately) but yeah like it's only been like a week and a half but I already feel so much better than I did before!
OK now I'm going to stop procrastinating and go study some more.... fun stuff right?
Anyways I love you girls soooo much and don't ever forget it!! <3
P.S. I really will try to blog more!<3

The Sun'll Come Out
Taja's been listening to Annie songs this morning, Some of the kids in CLC(read: the cute little girls) are doing a few songs for the Chirstmas show thing.
One of the songs is A Hard Knock Life from Annie. This is just bringing back memories of how much I wanted to be an orphan in Annie. Maybe this is one of the places my love for musicals started :)
I'm really happy with my voice right now.
It is just nicely falling into place. I've been singing some songs with my voice teacher that I had been singing before(with a different teacher...) and it is actually amazing and shocking how different they sound and feel! I can sing all of them now with out feeling tired or strained after, which didn't happen before. I don't ever hurt after lessons or practicing, and it feels so good!
NaNoWriMo is almost over :S
I'm doing alright, I have some writting to do today.
Tomorrow is going to be crazy, not as crazy as last weekend but still crazy.
Last weekend I went to see Gavin's show with Katlin and Taja in the afternoon. In the evening I went to see A Midsummer Night's Dream at the university - it was SO amazing. I was... amazing and excited and yeah :) -then I went straight to V's house for a sleepover - we ready Grimm's Fairytales(lol Mo, she had the book sitting on her desk, and I just had to read them for her :P), watched Rent, ate apples and chocolate until 2 in the morning.
Then I got up at 8 to go to chruch and sing and play my flute. We had a potluck there, and then I went straight to YET, and then I got a ride from my friend to Juror's and didn't get home until 10 that evening.
So I was out of the house from 6:30pm Saturday to 10pm Sunday. I was SO tired by the end of that.
This weekend I'm just staying at the studio from 1-10pm with out leaving :P I might slip out to get dairy queen during my hour break... or I might sleep on the couch :P
We'll see.

interview practice
I'm eating peanut butter m&ms and it reminds me of movies with all the people I love <3 (aka YOU.)
Sooooo I've been practicing like mad for my interview this Saturday... Here's a few of my answers:
Who is an example of a great leader?
A leader who I've always looked up to is Kyle Shewfelt. He was a Canadian Olympic gymnast, and I got to meet him when I was 13. He was so positive and encouraging, and you could see how much he loved the sport. Since retiring from gymnastics, he has donated huge amounts of money to Right to Play, and holds gymnastics competitions that promote how much fun gymnastics can be. He is a wonderful role model for any athlete, and he reminds me why I fell in love with gymnastics in the first place.
Why did you quit gymnastics?
Deciding to retire from gymnastics was one of the most difficult decisions I've ever made. I grew up in the gym, and I've always been extremely passionate about it. However, when I was 16 I realised that I was ready to move into a more mature aspect of the sport. I had a lot of other interests to explore, and I started coaching the pre-competitive program. I absolutely love my job now, and I've been able to get a lot more involved in school as well. I'm happy with the decision I made, because I left my training, but I took so many lessons and great memories with me, and now I get to share them with the new generation of gymnasts.
Why are you applying to science programs?
My love of science started when I was homeschooled. I read everything I could get my hands on, and YES magazine was one of my favourites. I loved knowing how things worked, and discovering how scientists were overcoming issues that seemed impossible only a few years ago. When I got to high school, an enrichment program I went to sparked my interest for the human body. We got to disect pig vertebraes, and I could really see myself working in a lab like that. I also loved my grade 12 physics class because of the problem based learning approach. I'm so excited about the entire world of science!

Hamlet... why?
Hey Ladies,
So I should be working on my novel(I PASSED 26K LAST NIGHT!!!!) or working on my English assignment(its still that stupid group project... but I think it's getting less stupid), but I'm obviously not.
Exciting news.
Jane Eyre and Aida were both nominated for BroadwayWorld Toronto People's Choice Awards.
If you could go vote for us, that would make me so happy :D
http://toronto.broadwayworld.com/vote2011region.cfm?region=Toronto
There are a lot of categories... but PLEASE!
Both are currently in first place, but voting is open until Decemeber... so we need to work to keep it there!!
It would be SO cool to win :D
Well, I need to go. I'm 'meeting' with my group members soon... so I should probably have something to show them :S

We Day Waterloo!
The last 2 days have been filled with motivation, inspiration and passion to make a change :D
To be totally honest I wasn't as WOWED with We Day this year... Somehow the energy wasn't quite there like last year :S BUT I did really enjoy hearing Romeo Dallaire speak, and Marc and Craig's final speech was really awesome. I wish it was posted somewhere so I could quote it properly, but I'm gonna try my best without it lol...
"Impossible is an illusion.
Never is a coward.
Unrealistic is a liar."
And there was more but I forget them lol. But they did a really, REALLY good job.
One thing that pissed me off though was how the guy speaking about Aboriginal issues COMPLETELY messed up his speech. They had the words on screens as a guide for the speakers, but his messed up and played the same part twice, AND HE READ IT TWICE to us. Like uhhh nice memorizing, you put a lot of effort into this... Then he didn't know what to do so he just left the stage, like "k bye guys!!!" which is SO stupid. Like, you're supposed to be an expert, improvise or something! Make some BS up for us!
But other than that, I really liked Naomi Tutu's speech. She was very warm and welcoming, and had this HUGE presence that made a big impact on everyone. She was like a super sweet, wise and AWESOME grandma. I liked how she reinforced what a gift each individual one of us is. The whole day is about the power of WE, but she also reminded us that EVERYONE is unique and brings something special to the world. <3
Romeo Dallaire was just incredible. Although I wish we got more of him lol. He told a story about how he was on a peace mission, trying to get to the leaders to work something out... And he was stopped by a baricade of child soldiers. He opened the door of his truck, and a little boy had a huge gun in his face. He was shaking and terrified, and Romeo could see the decision he was trying to make: Do I blow this guy's head off, or just accept the chocolate bar he's offering me?
Then Romeo went to on tell us how he realised that looking in that boy's eyes, he saw his own son, and realised that he could see EVERY boy. Because that's all they are. Boys.
I wish we got another couple of hours to listen to the stories he probably has to tell. That's what I want to hear more of...
Spencer West also had a funny story about how the first time he went to Africa, one little girl said to him, (about the loss of his legs) "I didn't know stuff like this happened to white people too."
I guess when I think about it there was SO much incredible stuff that I took from today. It just takes a while for it to all sink in. So overwhelming lol.
The first words my brother says when he gets home: "We Day was awesome!"
So overjoyed that I'm part of such a powerful movement <3

NaNoWriMo
Hey lovelies,
soooo, seeing you girls was amazing :) I enjoy how happy you all make me!
Today is basically set aside for Math(assignment due.... BUT I HAVE STARTED WORKING ON IT!!!!!) and NaNo-ing.
I didn't think I'd get put my word count for yesterday... but just before midnight I hit the 11,687 mark. WOOOOO FOR BEING ON TRACK!
Hahahahaha, now I just need at least 1667 more words before I turn off the light tonight, and I'll be good. I can get out at least 1,000 words out in 1 hour, if I set my mind to it.
SO YAYAYAY!
I'm also supposed to have all my lines memorised for tomorrow night... that needs to happen too.
Like I KNOW them all, but they are all just so random that I don't know when I say them :S
I'll have to work on that.
Hopefully everyone else has buckled down and knows their lines too.
Last night Messiah rehearsal was good!!! We worked on the classic "for unto us a child is born" movement, which I greatly enjoyed. This is just such a cool experience!
OH! I have a 'group project' to do for my on-line class. It's due next week, and here's hoping that my group is not a dud :P

THE CNTOWER IS BLUE& GOLD FOR ONCE!!!!!
Ya. I pretty much freaked out for a 10 minute walk with pingping at that realization and kept crossing the street so i could get a particulary amazing view of it... :P
I've been freaking busy!
Funny Katlin... i just got home from swimming in the pool you mentioned ;P
I took advantage of every facility i possibly could tonight, it was hilarious lol. I did lane swimming (with goggles and a darn cute bathing cap! ;) )had a shower (i brought my stuff from home) and went in the sauna... delightful.... and blow dried my hair under these funny motion sensored dryers-- i was a bit short for them so i had to jump every so often haha.... and best of all.... THIS SWIMSUIT DRYER!!! it's a small metal box that u put ur suit in, push the lid down, it makes a bunch of noise... and BAM your swimmingsuit is officiall dry.
I found out that there's free massages every monday from 1-3 in this one amazing u of t building that is pretty much my favourite thingy so far! So my new monday agenda is: Class, math aid center, and then a massage! ahahahahahaha
I went to buy wool today to make a soooffffttt scarf :)
I've been frantic with schoolwork, but i kinda really love it.
I passed my calc midterm!! i had my doubts... but i did!!! mind you... not by much at all ahahahaha, oh well, it's the only class im not doing very well in..:P and i can live with that reality xD In fact, im sadly quite proud of my achievements so far for the class :P
time to get crackalackin, hooray for home this weekend! (can u believe im almost done a semester?!! 3 weeks until exams... that's somewhat saddening for me lol

ANOTHER busy weekend
This Saturday I'm going to check out U of W... But both of my parents aren't around, so ya... I'm really hoping I can tag along with Erin haha.
Then hopefully I'll get a much needed dose of you girls <3
And write an essay, and help my brother with his Sears audition! Oh, and make lesson plans... Why are there so many things to do :S
I feel 100x better now that my calculus test is done, but we'll see how long that feeling lasts lol. I've felt so stressed about it ever since I realised how much my mark needs to go up for my university applications... :S
I wanna go to U of T so badly.
I'm also feeling in desperate need of a movie night. Or going to the movies. Preferably the Frederick Twin, with a fork, pickles and peanut butter M&Ms :P And I want to go semi dress shopping! Even though I don't need a dress...
Semi is coming up so fast! I need to make decorations with Jen, and figure out who I'm getting ready with :S Why do I suddenly have too many friends :P But ya, whatever. I'm actually SO excited. And I know that no matter what I'll have a blast :D
Anyways... Off to coaching.

Hey Ladies
So here's a quick update on my life:
-I'm sick. Yuck.
-My room is a disaster area. It's kinda frightening. I mean, I know I did have a floor at some point...
-NaNoWriMo is happening. I'm mostly on track. But it's only day 3, so that doesn't mean anything.
-I have an English assignment due tomorrow.... haven't started that.
-I feel like crap(see first point...)
Yup. That is my life right now.
Other than that I've had my first Messiah rehearsal. Exciting stuff.
I'm still rehearsing, singing and stuff.
I'm ushering for a show on Saturday. I was supposed to do that today. But that was cancelled.Probably a good thing, cause I am in no position to hand out programs coated in my germs to unsuspecting healthy people.
Other than that.... thing are just happening.
Yay.
I get to see MO this weekend!
Is Saturday evening still a go for you girls(minus Savannah)?
ALSO I am actually free on Sunday after 4.... so yeah. If we want to do something then...

Spicy chickpeas!
hahaha, I am sooo distracted right now. My mom is cooking a spicy chickpea dish that is making the whoooole house smell amazing...and I can't think about anything else. So I thought I should probably get blogging :P
It was super nice to see mo and didi this weekend :) And I read the article in the newspaper about the Phil's concert - quite the raving review! It was fun to read about the different songs and epic moments :) I'm SOOOO happy for you Rachel <3 That choir is dang lucky to have you btw ;)
ahaha, and babysitting the trio was majorly cute :) Kate, it was so sweet, the kids kept telling me what you do with them when you're over, and basically I tried to be the "Kate" for the night :P And they played "house," and Micah was the dad named "Ram" and Taja and I were sisters - my name was "Katlin!!" lol sooooo funny! You're totally number one in their babysitting books ;)
Halloween was funny; pretty much consisted of my bro racing to the door in his "morph" suit (all black, even covers his face...yes, he can still see :P) to surprise the little kids as they trick-or-treated. I'm pretty sure that was the highlight of the evening for him :P Brothers rock...
I`m having such a hard time keeping my eyes open....ahhh...must...get...to...work.
Maybe I`ll make some tea first :P
Next week I have midterms again!?! crazy stuff...it's honestly just a few weeks since the last ones...and then assignments are due and then exams! CRAAAZY how fast things go.
I hope we'll get to see each other soon :) I miss you girlies
It was super nice to see mo and didi this weekend :) And I read the article in the newspaper about the Phil's concert - quite the raving review! It was fun to read about the different songs and epic moments :) I'm SOOOO happy for you Rachel <3 That choir is dang lucky to have you btw ;)
