Since Savannah hasn't joined us yet, I'll fill you in on what she's been up to:)
So, Rosemarie took Savannah, Kaya and I to Wonderland yesterday!! Woo! My dad managed to get us tickets for a pretty reasonable price, and we packed lunches to save money there too.
We left at about 9ish am, sooo excited for the whole day, and hoping the rain showers would go long enough to scare off a lot of other people from going, leaving the park pretty empty for us. Little did we know that a HUGE rainstorm was headed our way. After going on just ONE ride, we were informed that rides were being temporarily shut down due to weather. And just after this announcement, it started POURING on us. I changed into a bathingsuit because I knew anthing else I tried would be useless, so I might as well embrace being wet:P
I was not in a good mood though as we got our ice cream to pass some time. Seriously, no matter how cheap the tickets were, one ride was not worth it. We got SO ripped off.
However, after about an hour, the rain started to clear up... And guess what, it did it's job for us! Tons of people either went home or didn't end up coming to Wonderland that day, so the lines were awesome! The longest we waited was a half hour, and most of the time only about ten minutes. We went on pretty much every single roller coaster there, and on Behemoth 5 times (twice in the dark)! It was so pretty to be up that high, looking down on the city all lit up:)
While we were there, Savannah ate a lot of yummy (but bad for you:P) food too. She got funnel cake with ice cream, this cookie sandwich thing, sprite, a jawbreaker, a chocolate diped ice cream cone and hot chocolate from Starbucks. Yum.
Altogether, it was a really fun day!

Sucks about the rain... but it's wonderful that it all worked out for the best :)

wow, it sounds like an awesome day!! haha, behemoth 5 times? You sure got your worth there ;) That's the way to do it, but a bathing suit on when it's raining - way to go Kate!! :)
ReplyDeleteI emailed Savannah about the blog, and she's confused about its purpose...and worried about posting stuff where everyone can see it. I told her that while some things are kinda off-limits, not very many people will be looking at our blog (I'm guessing) and it's just a way for us to keep in touch that's more 'in the moment' and up-to-date than the journals...which are still wonderful :)
