5, 6, 7, 8!

whew! Long day today, but how exciting is it to blog for ze first time evah!! Neat stuff I must say. This summer has been one of the busiest for most of us I think, what with camps and schooling, travelling to visit relatives and of course getting all of the necessary things done that cannot possibly fit into the schedules that we live by during the school-year. The few times we did share were well spent though, and I've been thinking about them ever since. Those birthday parties were so fun, and sleeping in the tent was unforgettably comfy! Not to mention meeting Andy for the first time and going shopping for some epic things. For me, this summer has meant minimal time spent at home, and I must say that I will never treasure home more - now that I have been away. Although living away at school is, well, away - there is nothing like experiencing the complete unfamiliar in a different country, new people, different expectations and ways of conduct. Going on exchange has been an invaluable experience, allowing me to figure out - bit by bit - the ins and outs of travelling, finding the best in people, and realizing not only my hopes, but my limitations as well. The end of this week will mark the end of an exciting period in Germany, and at the same time, the somewhat relieved return to what is for me a 'normal norm.'
Before I came to the school which I am attending on exchange I had the most amazing few days meeting my relatives, and I cannot believe how at home I felt with them. It is eye-opening to experience just how much one can connect with family...that being said, I must say that some friends can have such a profound impact on one's life that an amazingly strong connection can be carried all through life!
So, to these amazing friends, thank you for all those precious moments we've spent together, you never cease to amaze me and I think of you all the time. Here's to seeing each other again, real soon. Enjoy your last week of official summer! (haha, here it is raining 24/7, so much for that!)
